About Oris
Oris is a Swiss mechanical watch brand based in Hölstein, with 1904 as its founding year. Its collections tend to split into a few families: the Aquis dive watches, the Big Crown pilot watches and the ProPilot X line. All five watches below come from those families.
Aquis Date Upcycle Calibre 400

The star of this watch is the dial. It is made of recycled PET plastic, which means each dial is unique: no two Upcycle dials look alike. The flecks of blue, white, red and purple you see in the photo are different on every piece. It is part of Oris's "Change for the Better" sustainability program.
The rest is the Aquis recipe: a 43.50 mm steel case, a sapphire crystal, 300 m of water resistance and the in-house Calibre 400, an automatic movement with a 120-hour (five-day) power reserve. The bracelet is steel with a folding clasp.

Aquis Date Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV

Oris's reef editions pair a dive watch with coral conservation, and this fourth chapter keeps the idea. The dial shifts from deep blue at the bottom to turquoise at the top, like water getting lighter toward the surface. The caseback is engraved with corals and starfish, and the watch supports coral conservation in Australia.
It is limited to 2,000 pieces. Specifications include a 43.50 mm steel case, 12.60 mm thick, a unidirectional bezel with a grey tungsten inlay, a lollipop seconds hand, a date at six o'clock, and the Calibre 400 with a silicon escapement and up to five days of reserve.

Aquis Date Relief
If the other two Aquis are the loud ones, this is the calm one. A grey sunburst dial, stick indexes, luminous sword hands, a date window and a rotating dive bezel, all in a 43.50 mm steel case. It is a three-hand automatic with the Oris 733 movement, 300 m of water resistance and a sapphire crystal.
It comes up with a steel bracelet and with a red rubber strap, so you can pick a serious or a sporty look from the same watch.

Big Crown Pointer Date "Bullseye"

The Big Crown Pointer Date has been part of Oris's line since 1938, and the Bullseye dial is a return to an old look: a black ring with large Arabic numerals around a lighter center, a red date scale at the edge and a pointer date hand with a red tip. According to the press coverage, this two-tone concentric style goes back to early Oris watches from the 1910s, and the brand had not used it since the late 1990s.
The case is steel, 38 mm across and 12.20 mm thick, with a fluted bezel and an oversized crown. It runs on Oris Calibre 754, an automatic movement with 26 jewels and a red rotor visible through the sapphire caseback. The strap is black deer leather with a steel pin buckle and quick-release spring bars. Water resistance is 50 m. It is part of the permanent collection, not a limited edition.

Big Crown ProPilot X Gonzo Edition

This is the wild card. It honors Gonzo the Great, the blue Muppet who debuted in 1976, and it is Oris's third Muppets watch, after the Kermit and Miss Piggy editions. The dial is skeletonized and shifts from blue to red to orange and yellow, so you can see the movement through it. The power reserve hand is shaped like a chili pepper and the scale reads "10 Great Days."
The best detail is hidden: Gonzo's smiling face is laser-etched on the mainspring, visible through the skeletonized barrel. It fades as the watch unwinds and comes back when it is fully wound. The watch is titanium, 44 mm across and 12.6 mm thick, with a titanium bracelet and Oris Calibre 115, a hand-wound movement with a 240-hour (ten-day) power reserve. Water resistance is 100 m.
