Seiko Prospex Speedtimer HBD001 Mechanical Chronograph

The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer HBD001 brings Seiko's celebrated motorsport-inspired chronograph heritage into a sophisticated modern timepiece. Inspired by a classic 1972 Speedtimer design, this exceptional mechanical chronograph combines a streamlined stainless steel case and multi-row bracelet with a striking light blue embossed-pattern dial, creating a refined interpretation of Seiko's legendary sports-timing aesthetic.

At the heart of the HBD001 is Seiko's Caliber 8R48 automatic chronograph movement, a high-performance mechanical caliber with 34 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and an approximate 45-hour power reserve. The movement features both automatic and manual winding capabilities, while its column wheel and vertical clutch mechanisms help deliver smooth, precise chronograph operation. The three-pointed hammer system ensures the chronograph hands return to zero in precise synchronization when reset.

The watch features a 42mm stainless steel case with super-hard coating, measuring 14.6mm thick and 49.5mm from lug to lug. Its distinctive light blue dial features contrasting subdials, blue chronograph accents, a tachymeter scale, date display, and LumiBrite hands and indexes for excellent legibility. A dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating provides premium protection and clarity, while the screw caseback offers a view of the mechanical movement.

Designed for both performance and everyday sophistication, the HBD001 measures up to 12 hours of elapsed time in 1/8-second increments and offers 10-bar / 100-meter water resistance. Its stainless steel bracelet features the same super-hard coating as the case and is secured with a three-fold clasp with push-button release. With its distinctive touring-inspired design, advanced 8R48 movement, and premium finishing, the HBD001 represents one of the most refined expressions of Seiko's Speedtimer heritage.
