At the heart of the HBC003J1 is Seiko's Caliber 6R55 automatic movement, offering both automatic and manual winding and an impressive approximately 72-hour power reserve. The 24-jewel movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, while the stop-second function allows for precise time setting. The watch also introduces a practical mechanical countdown timer, operated through the crown at 4 o'clock.

The watch features a compact 39.5mm stainless steel case with a super-hard coating, measuring just 12mm thick and 44.5mm from lug to lug. Its light blue dial features a subtle textured finish, an orange-accented inner countdown ring, and an orange-tipped seconds hand for enhanced legibility.
