The Seiko Power Design Project HHK002 brings an imaginative twist to contemporary watchmaking, transforming the face of a giant panda into a distinctive chronograph design. Inspired by a baby panda, this limited-edition timepiece features a playful pink dial with contrasting black subdials, creating a memorable look that celebrates creativity, character, and Seiko’s innovative design philosophy. Its textured dial evokes the softness of panda fur, while the expressive subdials form the panda’s eyes and the details at six o’clock complete its charming face.

Powered by the Seiko Caliber 8T61 quartz chronograph movement, the HHK002 delivers dependable timekeeping with an accuracy of approximately ±15 seconds per month and a battery life of around three years. The chronograph measures elapsed time up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, while the small seconds hand provides continuous timekeeping. Its uniquely shaped pushers resemble panda ears, cleverly integrating the watch’s playful concept into its functionality.

The design continues with bamboo-leaf-inspired hour and minute hands and a distinctive “SASAMETER” tachymeter scale, a creative reference to sasa, the Japanese word for bamboo. The stainless steel case is paired with a coordinating pink cowhide leather strap featuring contrasting suede-like sections inspired by panda fur. On the caseback, a sculpted panda-inspired design includes the animal’s tail and a “LIMITED EDITION” marking, adding another thoughtful detail for collectors.
